Martin is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Martin grew up in the United States, and is a native speaker in both English and Spanish, as well as having business level proficiency in Japanese. He received his BA from Rutgers University New Brunswick, New Jersey before arriving in Japan in 1999. In 2007, Martin and his business partner Lloyd Danon established Argentum Wealth Management. In his spare time he enjoys surfing and motorcycling.
